Italian Luxury brand, Gucci is headed to Florence. The Alessandro Michele-helmed fashion house will present its cruise 2018 collection at the famous Palatina Gallery in Florence’s Pitti Palace on May 29th. This will be the first fashion show to be staged at the iconic place. According to ‘Fashionista.com’, President and CEO of Gucci, Marco Bizzarri, has given an official statement “Staging the next cruise collection show in the heart of Florence has special meaning, particularly as Alessandro is constantly inspired by the city's renaissance masterpieces.”
Gucci hosted its first catwalk show in London’s Westminster Abbey and another show at the historic Dia Art Foundation in New York City. Gucci’s Cruise collection 2018 will take place as part of a cultural project named “Primavera di Boboli” in collaboration with city of Florence and Uffizi Gallery. According to ‘Women’s Wear Daily’, Gucci will donate two million Euros to restore the Boboli Gardens., Director of Uffizi Gallery Eike Schmidt gave an official statement and said, “We are equally grateful for the commitment to Florence that Gucci has shown with its participation in the Primavera di Boboli project, which literally will give new life to the gardens and make them once again Italy's answer to Versailles”.
