Govinda Does Not Like The Environment In Film Industry

Popular actor Govinda has revealed that he feels like the environment in the film industry is not good. The actor admitted that this thought process comes from his disappointment with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) as they are against his upcoming flick, Rangeela Raja. They have suggested around 20 cuts for the film. The producer Pahlaj Nihalani signed a petition earlier this month to oppose the CBFC, believing that their suggested cuts were unjustified and uncalled for. He strongly believes that the movie is not vulgar in an manner, also accusing the CBFC head Prasoon Joshi of being “politically involved”.

When asked about if the film is going to be released or not, Govinda said, "We will let media and audiences know about the release date of the film. It is unfortunate that CBFC has censored few scenes of our film and because of that, we had to take legal route to release the film." He further added that he does not feel like this environment is good for the industry.
"I don't see any controversial scenes which are there in the film. I think it has been deliberately done to stop release of the film and it's not a good environment in the film industry to release the film. I have started my film career with Pahlaj Nihalani's film, so I hope this film releases without any difficulties," he added.

At the press conference for the movie, Govinda stated that for the last few years people have been oppositing his films’ releas deliberately by not giving him enough screen space. Now the CBFC has stopped the release of his new flick too. When asked if these things get to him, he said, "It doesn't hurt me as a person because in the initial period of my career, I haven't seen such kind of treatment to my films but now people from politics are entering into film business and people from film industry are entering into politics, so that could be the reason that such kind of things are happening in the film industry.

"In the south film industry, we will never see such things because they co-operate with each other. So, we should learn something from them."

His film Rangeela Raja is a comedy which has been written and produced by Nihalani. It is being helmed by Sikander Bharti and stars Govinda alongside Shakti Kapoor, Prem Chopra, Anupama Agnihotri, and Mishika Chourasia in leading roles.
