Google Doodle: Cricket World Cup 2019

As this year's World Cup is going to take place in England, Google celebrates the opening of the grand cricket tournament with a special animated doodle.

This year, the format of the World Cup matches is changed. According to the new format, each team is going to play against all the nine teams in the group stages, out of which the top four will qualify for the semi-finals. Countries participating in the match: India, New Zealand, England, Iceland, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Australia, West Indies. The two teams playing in the opening world cup match today are England and South Africa.

The final match will be played on July 15th 2019.

The animated Google doodle consists of a cricket ball and three stumps. When a user clicks this doodle, it will direct them to a page with all the information about the upcoming world cup matches.
