Google Doodle celebrates Oskar Schlemmer birthday

On the special occasion of 130th birth anniversary of renowned German sculptor, painter, Choreographer and designer Oskar Schlemmer Google pays tribute by dedicating Google Doodle. 

Oskar Schlemmer was born on 4th September 1888 in Stuttgart, Germany. After he worked at the workshop of sculpture he was given the job of a Master of Form at the Bauhaus theatre workshop. In the year 1919, he turned a sculpture and showcased his work at the Gallery Der Sturm in Berlin. The artist is known for works like Triadisches Ballett (Triadic Ballet), which showed costumed actors turn into geometrical figures of the human body depicted as part of colour and form. Oskar Schlemmer travelled to Weimar, Germany to be part of the Walter Gropius’s avant-garde Bauhaus, where he took up the position of stage research and production. He always experimented with various kinds of figures in his paintings and sculptures.

Oskar Schlemmer passed away on 13 April 1943 in Baden-Baden, Germany.
