Google Doodle pays a tribute to the renowned mathematician Olga Ladyzhenskaya, on the special occasion of her 97th birth-anniversary.
Olga Ladyzhenskaya is a Russian mathematician, who is known for her work on fluid dynamics and partial differential equations. She also contributed to the first proofs of the convergence of a finite difference method for the Navier-Stokes equations. Olga’s work on differential equations has contributed to several developments in the field of fluid dynamics and also in weather forecasting, cardiovascular science, oceanography, and aerodynamics.
Olga Ladyzhenskaya graduated from Moscow State University and received a doctorate degree from Leningrad State University. In the year 2002, she also received the Lomonosov Gold Medal for her remarkable contribution in mathematics and science.
