Instructions

1. Rinse and wash the urad dal twice before soaking it for three to four hours. Then, drain out the excess water and grind it to make a coarse mixture. Add the cumin seeds, chillies, onions, coriander, ginger, hing, and salt to the mixture.

2. Once the batter is mixed well, heat the oil in a wok. Make dumplings out of the batter, flatten them, and make a hole in the centre. Transfer them into the wok and cook until they turn golden-brown. Serve them hot on the banana leaf.
