The seventh and penultimate season of ‘Game of Thrones’ has added a new cast member.
Oscar winner Jim Broadbent has signed on for a role in the HBO series for the upcoming season. Entertainment Weekly first reported the news, adding that the British actor would be playing a “significant” role. Broadbent is the first major cast addition for season 7, which will be seven episodes long as opposed to the usual 10 episodes.
But according the report, “oftentimes such character rundowns sent to casting agents are deliberately deceptive because producers assume they will find their way online.”
‘Game of Thrones’ returns to HBO in summer of 2017.
