Frances Bean Cobain, the 24-year-old daughter of late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain and singer Courtney Love, was recently named the face of Marc Jacobs. Cobain, will front advertisements for the brand’s Spring/Summer 2017 collection.
"I am honored to have worked with such incredibly creative, inspiring people for this campaign. Thank you @themarcjacobs & David Sims," she tweeted to her 520,000 followers.
Cobain has previously modeled for Elle and Harper's Bazaar, and appeared in Schon magazine with former Crystal Castles singer Alice Glass in October.
Jacobs shared his reasoning for casting Cobain on Instagram, writing: "I first met Frances Bean when she was 2 years old at a dinner with her mom (Courtney) and Anna Sui in 1994 at Bar Six in NYC. I have always wanted to work with Frances. Her beauty, uniqueness, and strength is something I have long admired and respected. Few things remain as constant as my continued inspiration from those whose honesty, integrity, courage, and curiosity lead them to explore and venture beyond preconceived boundaries."
Last season, Cobain's mother, Courtney Love, starred in Jacobs's Fall 2016 campaign alongside Susan Sarandon, Kendall Jenner, Marilyn Manson, Cara Delevingne, and St. Vincent.
