The Fabulous Lives of India’s Royals

Huma Latif and Asad Latif

Being royalty in today’s day and age comes with a certain amount of responsibility to continue the age-old values of your predecessors while also adapting to modern sensibilities. It’s about being a guardian of legacy and heritage that spans centuries. This month’s Feature is about all those unusual objects that the royals of the bygone era splurged on.

The cover that features Maharaja of Patiala, Bhupinder Singh, is an extension of the Feature. Be sure to read up about his obsession with sterling silver.  Move on to Special Feature wherein we have two women belonging to royal families, Kanwarani Archana Kumari Singh of Badnore and Princess Mrinalika M. Bhanjdeo of Mayurbhanj, who talk to us about what it’s like to be a royal in today’s day and age and how they blend their royal past with today’s times.

In People we have the ever graceful, modern royal lady —Maharajkumari Vidita Singh Barwani, who is an automotive artist, and F1 journalist Kumari Niharikaraje Ghorpade, who both speak up about how their cultural heritage has a vivid impact on their lives. They also share some interesting anecdotes with us.

Setting out on a long, exotic holiday were New Delhi-based designer Dharna Hassija and her family and friends who recently visited Tanzania on a 20-day long trip. Read more about their excursion in Grand Getaways.
This month’s Sensational Spaces features the breathtaking Palace of Jasdan where the Jasdan family resides. Read on as Kumar Shri Shivrajkumar Satyajitkumar Khachar takes us through his extraordinary home.
Last but definitely not the least, Wedding Moments is an amalgamation of the four day-long wedding celebrations of Adel Sajan and Sana Khan atop a luxury cruise liner, sailing amidst the Mediterranean Sea.
