Italian fashion designers and creative designer for luxury brand Dolce & Gabbana, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana hosted their annual Alta Moda show by paying homage to the beautiful island of Sicily, Palermo.
The designers have retold the romantic story of the lovely island of Sicily through bold and elegant printed ballgowns and stunning headpieces with delicate work. The show was held at one of local attractions the Piazza Pretoria referred to as the ‘square of shame’. The first piece to grab the attention of the audience was an eye-catchy skirted crinolined silk gown, which had a hand printed quote from the Lampedusa’s novel The Leopard “everything needs to change, so that everything can stay the same”.
The dresses were designed in lace, jewel, floral embroidery, sequin, and delicate reefs with a blend of pink and orange corals sourced from Sciacca. Some of the beautiful outfits were accessorised with jewel embroidered shopping baskets consisting of bread, herbs and oranges.
