Singer Demi Lovato who got tragically hospitalized for an overdose a couple of months ago in July, has now reached 90 days of sobriety! Her mother, Dianna De La Garza, revealed this information in an interview on a radio show, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
"She has 90 days," Garza revealed, "I couldn't be more thankful or more proud of her because addiction being a disease, its work. It's very hard. It's not easy, and there are no shortcuts." She also talked about the relapse, saying she isn’t sure what led to it in the first place..
"I knew that she wasn't sober," she said of Lovato, who apologized for no longer being sober in her ballad Sober, which was released in June.
"I didn't know what she was doing because she doesn't live with me and she's 26."
She recalled the entire experience when Lovato overdosed as a “nightmare”, finding out through a text message. In August the “Confident” singer had shared an emotional message on her social media which was about her overcoming addiction, "I now need time to heal and focus on my sobriety and road to recovery,"
"The love you have all shown me will never be forgotten and I look forward to the day where I can say I came out on the other side. I will keep fighting."
