After delivering a brilliant performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's epic film "Padmaavat", Deepika Padukone has teamed up with Meghna Gulzar for a film on the acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal.
According to some sources, Deepika will not only play the lead role but she will also produce the film. This film will also be the first that Deepika will be producing. The plot of the movie will revolve around the story of Laxmi Agarwal, an active campaigner for stop acid attacks and also a TV host.
Laxmi is the director of an NGO that helps survivors of acid attacks in India, the Chhanv Foundation. Inspite of all the struggles she had to face, Laxmi never gave up and today she is an inspiration to millions around the world. This brave women was also bestowed with the International Women of Courage award by the former US first lady Michelle Obama in the year 2014.
