Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley co-hosted the evening for the ninth consecutive year as the CMA Awards marked its fifth decade. Garth Brooks took home the top prize of Entertainer of the Year. Brooks, who returned to country music in 2014 after a lengthy hiatus, beat out last year's winner Luke Bryan, Chris Stapleton, Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood.

New Artist of the Year: Maren Morris

Song of the Year: Lori McKenna, "Humble and Kind"

Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award: Dolly Parton
