Chanel bans fur and use of animal skin

Joining the list of luxury brands like Versace, Burberry and Armani which banned the use of fur and animal skin to make products, is Chanel. The high-end brand had recently announced that it will stop making products using exotic animal skin.

Some popular animal skins that are used to make accessories and garments are snake, lizard, and crocodile. From now onwards the brand will no longer use these materials. High-end brands like Gucci, Michael Kors, Stella McCartney, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Vivienne Westwood and Tommy Hilfiger also stopped making products using animal skin. This decision by almost all the big brands has been received as a campaign for victory by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), whose main aim is to eradicate the use of animal skin to make products that we use.
