After years of tabloid gossip claiming marital troubles, country music’s top couple Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton announced their divorce after four years of marriage.
Shelton reportedly filed for divorce two weeks ago but the country music superstars, who had a prenuptial agreement, had come to an amicable agreement on how to split their assets.”This is not the future we envisioned and it is with heavy heart that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real family, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter,” reads statement on behalf of the two.
But despite them putting on a united front in the past year, there were issues. Blake has apparently suspected Miranda had hooked up with country singer Chris Young, who opened for Lambert a few years ago and has been seen out with the blonde beauty a few times.
Chris Young though has denied having an affair with Lambert, writing on Twitter that his name “has been mentioned as a contributing factor in Blake and Miranda’s divorce.” “That is totally FALSE. They are both my friends and I would not betray that friendship. Just wanted to clear that up. Love you guys.”
