CBS Entertainment and Warner Bros. Television have reached a deal for a two-year renewal of ‘The Big Bang Theory’, through the 2018-19 season.
The main five cast members of the series ensemble — Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Kunal Nayyar and Simon Helberg — have also struck new deals with the studio. Their co-stars Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch — who have been engaged in prolonged contract negotiations — have not yet signed new contracts.
The five actors who are slated to earn about $900,000 per episode in the next two seasons agreed to take a $100,000 pay cut apiece from their current salaries to free up more funds in the budget to help provide raises for Bialik and Rauch, who have been paid far below their co-stars at around $175,000-$200,000 per episode.
CBS has already announced a spinoff for next season, featuring a younger version of Parsons's character, Sheldon.
