One of the largest internet based retailers, Amazon is expanding their customer base by constantly adding and refining products and services. The retailer has launched Amazon Spark, a new social feature aimed at getting users to spend more money.
The Amazon Spark is available for Amazon's premium paying Prime members through the Amazon iOS app. To use the new feature you must select ‘Programs & Features’ in the app’s menu and choose atleast five interests. This new feature allows users to share pictures and videos, similar to social networking apps Instagram and Pinterest. Spark enables users to tag products available on Amazon and people who’re browsing can instantly find and purchase the product. It also allows users to respond to posts similar to Facebook.
Talking about the new feature, Amazon’s spokeswoman said, “We created Spark to allow customers to discover - and shop - stories and ideas from a community that likes what they like.” She further added, “When customers first visit Spark, they select at least five interests they'd like to follow and we'll create a feed of relevant content contributed by others. Customers shop their feed by tapping on product links or photos with the shopping bag icon.”
