SRIDEVI AT RGV’S

APPALARAJU

Erstwhile beauty Sridevi and romantic hero Nagarjuna launched Ram Gopal Varma’s forthcoming film Katha Screenplay Darsakatvam Appalaraju recently at Annapurna Studios, which has comedian-turned-hero Sunil in the lead. The actress-cum-producer Sridevi flew down to Hyderabad to attend a Telugu event, after five long years. She was last seen at the audio launch function of Chiranjeevi’s Jai Chiranjeeva along with her husband, producer Boney Kapoor.

Katha Screenplay Darskathvam Appalaraju is about a movie buff, who aspires to become successful in the film industry. Produced by Kiran Koneru under the banner of Shreya Productions, Ram Gopal will himself direct the movie. The event was well-attended by the Telugu fraternity including actors Sumanth and Rana.
“Nag, who triggered my film making career, and Sridevi, who triggered my film viewing career, are both giving clap for my film Appalraju today at 12,” tweeted RGV.

Pawan Kalyan in Jerusalem

Actor Pawan Kalyan is in Jerusalem to shoot for a movie on Jesus Christ on a 15-day schedule. The actor is to play a cameo role as Jesus Christ, which will be shot at the coast of the Galilee Sea. Directed by Singeetham Srinivas, this film will be shot in three different languages - English, Tamil and Telugu - at some of the historic locations of Jerusalem. J.K. Bharavi dons the cap of the scriptwriter and cinematography is done by Sekhar V. Joseph. This is reportedly a children’s film that revolves around Jesus.

In the Telugu film industry, we’ve seen mainstream actors such as Nagarjuna and Balakrishna play mythological characters successfully. Even Chiranjeevi’s role as Lord Shiva in Manjunaatha was a landmark in his career. We can only hope that this character does wonders for Pawan’s career too.
