Ranveer Singh will be collaborating with Kabir Khan for a film based on the most memorable event in the history of Indian cricket, India’s World Cup in the year 1983, co-produced by Phantom Films and founder and managing director of the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL), Vishnu Vardhan Induri.
The film is tentatively titled as “World Cup 1983”, and the film revolves around the 1983 world cup, where the Indian team won under the captaincy of Kapil Dev. In the film, Ranveer Singh will be playing the role of former Indian cricketer Kapil Dev. The film will also shed light on the life of Kapil Dev.
Shooting for “World Cup 1983” will commence from early next week and will be shot in locations where the World Cup 1983 tour took place.
Ranveer Singh will be seen in a periodic drama film “Padmavati”, which is slated to release on 1st December 2017.
