On the special occasion of the 108th birthday of late Chinese-born American artist, Tyrus Wong; Google created a doodle dedicated to him.
The well-known artist Tyrus Wong is an animator, calligrapher, painter, muralist, ceramicist, lithographer, set designer and storyboard artist. The well-known artist worked as a lead production illustrator on Disney's 1942 film "Bambi". He also designed sets for several films. Even though he retired from his position of working in the film industry in the year 1960s but he continued to sketch, paint and design ceramics in the 90's.
He was also the vision behind the design of the Hallmark greeting cards. Tyrus Wong also worked as a production illustrator at Warner Brothers Studios. The talented artist, in the year 2001 was bestowed with the History Makers Award by the Chinese American Museum. Tyrus Wong also was awarded the lifetime Achievement Award by the San Diego Asian Film Festival.
