“Nalini”: Bilingual Film On Rabindranath Tagore’s Love story

Priyanka Chopra turned producer with her debut Marathi production film “Ventilator”, that has won several national awards. On the 156th birth anniversary of Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore,  Priyanka has decided to pay a tribute by producing a bilingual Bengali-Marathi film based on Tagore’s love story.

 “Nalini” is based on Rabindranath Tagore’s love story as a teenager when he was in Mumbai. Tagore before leaving to England stayed with Dr Atmaram Pandurang Turkhud, where the poet fell in love with his English teacher Annapurna Turkhud, Tagore named her Nalini and immortalised her in a poem. The film will be directed by National award winning filmmaker Ujjwal Chatterjee and the script is penned by Sagarika.

The shooting for the film will begin in October 2017.
